💬Messaging

❌ Centralised ❌

Current Status:

At present, Pass employs Web2 chat integrations to facilitate communication between wallet addresses, allowing for the creation of intricate networks of connections by linking profiles across chains. This approach represents our initial strides towards integrating decentralization into our messaging infrastructure.

Future Plans:

We are conscious of the evolving needs and expectations of our users and the broader market developments. Our vision is to transition towards a more decentralized messaging system, in line with advancements in decentralization technologies such as XMTP (Extensible Message Transport Protocol). Our ultimate goal is to implement a robust and sustainable solution that enhances user experience and promotes active engagement within our platform.

Advantages:

Transitioning to a decentralized messaging system brings a wealth of benefits. It ensures more control for users over their conversations, enhanced privacy, and security. It also supports scalability and provides an open, censorship-resistant platform where everyone can communicate freely.

Challenges:

Nevertheless, we are aware of the complexities associated with this transition. It's crucial to address challenges such as maintaining consistent data across a distributed network, managing infrastructure costs, and handling potential data duplication. Our strategy is to effectively balance these challenges against the significant advantages decentralization offers.
